I believe that everyone has the right to make the important decisions that impact their lives – where their kids go to school; how much of their earnings they hand over to the State; how to protect themselves and their loved ones; who they choose to worship.

Our government, whether at the Federal, State or local level, was created to be a government of, by and for the people.  I believe that today our State government has forgotten that and acts as if its role is to push the pet projects of the current elected officials, socializing our State by taking over ever larger segments of our life and our economy, with little respect for the rights and liberties of our citizens.  I believe that we need change in the Senate so that the government once again understands and respects that it works for you, and not the other way around.

As a CPA, I understand how increasing government spending and taxes, health care costs, health insurance premiums, and housing costs increase your overall cost of living, impacting your personal budget.  This forces you to make hard decisions about what you can afford to spend money on and what you have to do without, while wondering why the State doesn’t have to do the same.  We must have fiscal responsibility at our State government so that you can keep your money to spend the way that you want.

As a Chief Financial Officer, I understand how to balance competing needs for limited financial resources and how to operate organizations as efficiently as possible.  I understand how the State can support business in the creation of jobs.  I also understand how high taxes and excessive regulation drive businesses to eliminate those jobs.  We must have limited State government to ensure our businesses thrive so that you can thrive.

As a former school board President, I understand the roles and relative values of the local school districts and the State Department of Education in educating our children while spending over $6 billion of the State budget to do so.  Parents are the most important factor though and must have the right to choose how to educate their children with equal support from the State regardless of their choice.

Most importantly, I understand that you are working hard every day to take care of yourself and your family, to live your life the way you want, to be happy, and to be free.  You deserve a Senator who will fight just as hard for you so that you can enjoy all of your God given rights and liberties as an American, not just the few “privileges” that the State of Colorado thinks you deserve.

Our current elected officials have lost faith in the citizens of Colorado.  They have lost faith in your ability to decide what is best for you and your loved ones.  They want to dictate how you live your life now and in the future.

I have not lost faith in our citizens.  I believe in you and I hear your voice.  Our opportunities are limitless when 5 million Coloradans work together to build a better future for themselves and their neighbors.  As your next Senator, I will fight to restore limited government, fiscal responsibility, and equal application of the law, along with basic human respect for you and all of our citizens, so that our State government once again works for all of us.

I ask for your support to help me do just that.  Thank you!
